How does the driving test practical exam go?
In this video, you can see what a driving test practical exam looks like. Of course, the most important preparation is done during your driving lessons.
Your driving instructor knows what you need to be able to do and know for the practical exam.
You will learn all parts step by step during your driving course.
The driving instructor ensures that you are fully prepared for the exam.
For the exam ride
On the day of the exam, you will meet the examiner.
You will be explained how your exam will proceed and checked:
- The invitation to your exam;
- your ID;
- completed self-reflection;
Your instructor may ride along during the practical exam in most cases, if you wish.
It is sometimes not possible, because a second CBR employee is riding along, for example an examiner in training.
Further:
- In the parking lot, you take an eye test.
You read the license plate of a stationary car about 25 meters away. - In preparation for the drive, the examiner will ask you some questions about the car.
For example, about checking the engine fluid or the lights on the dashboard. - If you did the special operation well during the interim test, you get an exemption.
This means that the examiner will no longer test you on that part in your practical car test.
The exam ride
The exam drive lasts about 35 minutes. For part of it, you drive independently to a certain destination. You do this with the help of a navigation system. For the most part, you drive on directions from the examiner. The examiner checks whether you drive safely and independently. Among other things, the examiner pays attention to the control of the car, viewing behavior and giving way. This applies to all seven parts of the exam.
